Torrents? Like Rain?

I used to be such a boon... Such a computer geek... then art college happened, and Now Im a noob. I hadn't even heard of bit torrent or torrent comet until my friends took a book and smacked me in the head with it. Wow... Im a noob, how could I NOT know they exsisted?
